I am a Naturopath, owner and teacher of a yoga studio. I have been practicing holistic therapies for over 12 years.
My native language is French. I have just published my first book, a gratitude journal.
I have been organizing yoga and wellness retreats for many years, always guided by the desire to help others.
In a previous life, I was a pet groomer for 20 years.
I currently teach French as a second language, the personal wellness program, and the Pet Grooming STC at the Elawsimgewei Gina’muo’guom adult education center in Listuguj, where I have been sharing my knowledge for the past 4 years.

Julie McWhirter
Elawsimgewei Gina’muo’guom Teacher
I have been teaching First Nations adult learners since 2007 (vocational training, high school diploma courses, and computer skills for employees, etc.).
I feel really fortunate to work with the people I do, and I put a lot of passion and love into it. My students and coworkers have given me so much over the years and are a big part of why after all these years I continue to love my work more and more. I believe teaching is an opportunity to impact a person’s life and should never be wasted.
Central to my teaching philosophy is a welcoming, well-prepared and a collaborative classroom where students feel ownership and pride in their learning and their values, beliefs, feelings, and thoughts are a core component of their learning.
I’m not someone who loves talking about myself, so I’m looking forward to getting to see you all in person at the IAEN symposium. I have a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education and currently working towards a Master of Education in Adult Education.
