Description:

The Anishinaabe Otapan Driving School is a non-profit organization located in Pikogan which offers driving courses adapted to Indigenous realities. It is recognized by the SAAQ (Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec) and was created by the communities of Pikogan and Lac-Simon, as well as the Kitci Amik Regional Adult Education Center.

Come learn more about how it started and what you need to open a driving school.

Presenters:

Isabelle Cloutier – Kitci Amik
Coordinator/Instructor/Trainer for the Otapan Driving School.

I am a person who loves new challenges. In September 2023, I was offered the opportunity to train as a driving trainer and instructor for a driving school. Being an organized, attentive person ready to do anything to help students, I saw it as a chance to personally surpass myself and help young people by working directly with them. This close proximity allows me to help them achieve their goals more efficiently.

Richard Lupien – Kitci Amik
Graduated with a degree in delinquency intervention techniques from Cégep d’Amos. He has been working at CRÉA Kitci Amik since 2020.

Having worked for 13 years in intervention in the region’s high schools. He started as a psychosocial worker at CRÉA and is now the Technical Development Officer (Agent de développement volet technique) since 2024.
